The device was designed to solve a common problem in many industries: removing stuck rings non-destructively. What started as a capstone engineering project at Dalhousie University in 2016, has evolved to where it is today; providing professionals worldwide with an effective solution for removing stuck rings.

In reflection of receiving the patent, Patrick Hennessey, co-founder and CTO, says

"Our awarded patent is the culmination of a significant effort by our team. It is validation that our solution is unique and represents an important milestone for the company as we grow. Personally, it’s a great reminder that innovation doesn’t have to be complicated, and to really appreciate simple solutions, as they’re often the most difficult to devise. While this patent is a great opportunity to appreciate how far we’ve come, our team is not resting on our laurels - we’re already throwing ourselves at the next challenge!"

Co-founder and President, Dr. Kevin Spencer, also shared his thoughts;

"Our device is clever and unique, and our recently awarded US patent is a great recognition of that. It is one of several global patents we are obtaining as part of our broad IP strategy, as we redefine the standard of care worldwide for how stuck rings are managed. Combining our great testimonials and brand recognition with our patent protection helps further secure our position as the authority in ring removal, and it is something we are all proud of."

The company continues to evolve and adapt to challenges faced in today's business environment. The team is working strategically to build more distributor relationships and expedite new product development while providing professionals in the healthcare, fire, jewellery and funeral services industries devices that offer effective and consistent solutions for removing stuck rings around the world. Not only does our initial device allow them to avoid cutting sentimental and valuable rings, but it elevates their standard of care. Our device improves patient flow for medical professionals, aids firefighters in preserving property, enhances customer service for jewellers and grants funeral services professionals a more dignified approach to ring removal.
